Pat’s desire to protect investors from the scams that crowd the investing landscape led him to found Investor’s Watchdog LLC, (“IW”) in 2006. Investor’s Watchdog hosts a popular blog, investorswatchblog.com, which tracks breaking investment scams and teaches investors and financial advisers effective due diligence tactics. Investor’s Watchdog has conducted investigations for clients all over the world and helped save millions in assets that otherwise would have been lost to cleverly disguised frauds.
Pat graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. He went on to Mercer Law School in Macon, Georgia where he was a member of the Mercer Law Review and Chairman of the Moot Court Board. Pat was honored as the Outstanding Senior of his graduating class and inducted into the Brainard Currie Honor Society and the Order of Barristers. He also won the James Estes Moot Court Award and the Corpus Juris Secundum award for contributions to legal scholarship. He graduated from Mercer, cum laude, in 1987.
After three years learning litigation at an insurance defense firm, Pat joined the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission as an Enforcement Attorney. Less than two years later he accepted a promotion to Enforcement Branch Chief, leading a team of impressive Enforcement Attorneys in nationwide investigations of insider trading, market manipulation, broker-dealer misconduct, and offering frauds of every kind.
Pat returned to private practice in 1996, representing investors in securities arbitration and litigation and representing targets of SEC investigations at the firms Dawson & Huddleston and Huddleston & Nohr. In 2006, Pat opened The Huddleston Law Firm and began his career as a court-appointed receiver. He joined Atlanta law firm Page Perry as a Partner in 2011.
