FBI Arrests Alleged Con Man
Wednesday, July 2nd, 2008The Panama City News Herald has run a story about the arrest of Luis Rivera, charged by a grand jury in South Carolina with operating a $30 million Ponzi scheme that defrauded more than 400 people. Check out the article. The story will be familiar to frequent visitors to this blog. The case is unusual because the federal criminal authorities have taken an interest. Prosecutors are so busy with drug cases and violent crimes, that white collar crime sometimes takes a back seat. Kudos to the FBI for tracking down and arresting Rivera.
