What does the crystal ball show today? Let’s take a look. Yep - there it is - more scams centered upon opportunities that might come along with a change in the occupant of the White House. Last time, the crystal ball showed more scams centered on alternative energy companies. Today, I am seeing scams centered on health care.
Senator Obama’s health care plan requires businesses above a certain size to provide health insurance for employees. Could this result in more business for health insurance companies? Whether it does or doesn’t, you can expect scams that take advantage of news coverage about health care proposals. I see limited partnership offerings for investment in new health insurers and private placements into companies that supposedly have technology that can streamline insurance claims. Because stem cell research is always in the news, I also see scams centered on cures for every disease that still plagues us.
Do not try to separate the wheat from the chaff on your own. As bright as you are, that’s like a junior high school linebacker trying to tackle an NFL running back. Scam artists have wicked skills. Only someone who has spent his career identifying and pursuing them is playing in the same league. Baby boomers and seniors who want to protect their nest eggs and leave a legacy for their children and grandchildren will therefore recruit protection from Investor’s Watchdog.
